It’s LOVEuary on Hallmark Channel

It’s February, the month of love. Of course Hallmark is on it, and this year they are mashing up all of their usual stuff with Jane Austen. That’s right. They have called it “Loveuary.” For the entire month of February, Hallmark is releasing new Austen adaptations.

As an Austen scholar, I should hate this, right? I should be snobby and think things like ‘only the BBC or PBS can do this with any integrity. Hallmark? Ugh.’ I should think things like ‘Austen’s too good for this.’ Blah blah blah.

But no. I love that Hallmark has done this. It’s this great reminder that Jane Austen is relevant in 2024. Anything that keeps people interested, or gets people interested, in Jane Austen is fantastic!
